The Post Graduate programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) is of two years duration. The participants spend the first year undertaking coursework and continue their dissertations in the second year in their place of work.
During Terms 1 and 2, the participants of the PGPPM programme are required to undertake core courses on Public Policy and General Management courses. In Term 3, the open and overseas candidates take electives offered by the other long duration programmes at IIMB and they undertake a project involving a government department as a case study under guidance of an IIMB faculty member. Government sponsored candidates undertake Term 3 at Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University, USA where they study core international module on public policy in international perspective and write a policy paper.
During Terms 4 and 5, participants undertake electives in areas of their specialization and courses from general streams. Term 5 specifically, requires the participants to study three core modules.
During Term 6 of the first year, the participants start working on their dissertations. The research and writing for the dissertation continues in the second year.
