at the IIMB CDPG convened the ONCM Technology Position Paper Sprint as part of the co-development of the Open Network for Carbon Markets (ONCM) with Networks for Humanity (NFH). The session brought together potential technology consortium partners and stakeholders, including Tata Consultancy Services, RenewCred, Protean eGov Technologies Ltd., and Intellecap, to deliberate on core technology design choices for ONCM design and development.

The sprint focused on evaluating existing, field-tested digital domain agnostic as well as domain specific building blocks from carbon markets, and adjacent sectors such as agriculture and commerce, while identifying new components required to consolidate the ONCM technology stack. Discussions covered deployment models, stakeholder roles, and the development of a capabilities inventory to support pilot infrastructure. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying gaps where new building blocks would need to be developed, as well as opportunities to adopt or repurpose existing components for ONCM.

The session also examined key design choices that would require standardisation and disclosure to enable interoperability and coordinated participation across ecosystem actors. As part of the broader effort to formalise ONCM’s Vision and Technology Position Papers, the sprint contributed to defining a structured approach for pilot design and development, marking a transition from conceptual system design toward an implementable, ecosystem-aligned technology framework.
