Programme Overview
The pandemic and the associated developments have brought to the fore the complex realities of managing business organizations successfully. During the pandemic and thereafter Individuals faced huge challenges in the workplace and also in balancing work with their personal life, at times leading to questions related to one’s “existential” nature. Business managers have realized that a strong “inner will and strength” is required to face the uncertain world and self-inspire and lead others. Among other things, managers the world over has understood that skills required to lead organizations in such an environment are not merely those related to handling the “world outside”. Handling one’s “inner world” is paramount in the process. This program is designed to address this emerging need.

This program uniquely contributes to this theme by drawing from Eastern wisdom to address issues related to the world inside and Western wisdom to take this further by correspondingly addressing the related issues in the world outside. The program copiously draws from the Bhagavad Gita to showcase valuable leadership and self-development paradigms. Through contemplations and dialogues, and a few meditative practices the program seeks to bring out fresh insights, new paradigms, and applicable practices to develop inspirational leaders in organizations.

Program Objectives
This program will enable the participants to strengthen their inspiration and catalyse self–transformation, resulting in positive corporate performance aligned with individual joy. The specific objectives are:

  • To help the participants appreciate the myriad leadership challenges that they currently face in a structured framework
  • To introduce a new framework of Inspirational Leadership based on the Bhagavad Gita
  • To provide specific inputs from the Indian scriptures that will enable the participants to develop specific skills and practices to address some of the leadership challenges
  • To provide a host of tools and techniques from the Western paradigms of leadership to enhance leadership effectiveness
  • To help participants learn in a reflective mode thereby positively influencing their thoughts and action

Program Structure
The program begins with an overarching framework to analyze the leadership challenges that organizations face today. The uniqueness of the program lies in its ability to seamlessly integrate the insights from the East and the West and show the intricate connections between the two. Throughout the program, insights from the Gita provide an overarching framework to bring out larger issues affecting an “individual” and its relationship to leadership excellence. Correspondingly, the well-known methodologies and instruments from the Western paradigm are introduced to highlight the role of an “individual” in addressing these aspects. With these building blocks, the program is anchored on four themes (Self Inspiration, Authenticity, Accommodation, and Joy) to develop new insights and practices that can fully develop the idea of inspirational leadership into a workable concept.
Some of the topics covered in the program will include:
• Inspirational Leadership: Lessons from the Gita
• The notion of Failed Leadership (Insights from the Gita)
• Values for self-transformation and behavioral authenticity
• The psychological construct of an individual – The tri-guna framework
