India is famous for Jugaad, the ability to improvise in tough situations. But, while Jugaad is a good starting point, today companies need innovation that simultaneously scales, meets enhanced customer expectations, and is cost-efficient. In this program, we investigate how to institutionalize such an innovation capability.

Objectives

Innovation is critical for an organization to thrive and to develop sustainable competitive advantage. Yet, companies struggle to build a platform for consistent and sustainable innovation. The obstacles are often nontechnical and people-related. Therefore, it is necessary to consciously build structures, culture and processes that will support sensible risk-taking, The objective of this program is to identify the strategies, systems, processes and structures required to build a world-class innovation capability.

The programme will cover different types of innovation including product, process, business model, and technology innovation.

Senior managers from any function who are managing innovation programs or plan to launch innovation initiatives within their organisation will benefit the most from this programme. Deputing a team of managers who are responsible for driving innovation to this programme will help in quickly transferring benefits to your company.

We will use case studies, exercises, and presentations to help participants identify where they stand in the innovation journey, and what steps they need to take to advance their innovation capabilities.

Prof. Rishikesha Krishnan has been on the faculty of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, India, since 1996, where he is currently Professor of Strategy. He held the Jamuna Raghavan Chair in Entrepreneurship from 2007 to 2010. He completed a 5-year term as Director of the Indian Institute of Management Indore in December 2018.He was educated at IIT Kanpur, Stanford University and IIM Ahmedabad.

Prof. Krishnan's main areas of interest are strategy and innovation. Some of his recent publications have appeared in MIT Sloan Management Review, Global Strategy Journal and Management International Review. He is listed in the Thinkers50 India list of most influential management thinkers from India. Prof. Krishnan’s book 8 Steps to Innovation: Going from Jugaad to Excellence (co-authored with Vinay Dabholkar) won the Best Book Award for 2013-14 from the Indian Society for Training & Development. His earlier book From Jugaad to Systematic Innovation: The Challenge for India proposed a blueprint for how India can enhance its innovation output. 

Programme Fee and Payment

INR 1,00,500/- Residential and INR 90,000/- Non -Residential (+ Applicable GST) per person for participants from India and its equivalent in US Dollars for participants from other countries.

Early Bird Discount

Nominations received with payments on or before 19-Sep-19 will be entitled to an early bird Discount of 10%.

Please Note

All enrolments are subject to review and approval by the programme director. Joining Instructions will be sent to the selected candidates 10 days prior the start of the programme. Kindly do not make your travel plans unless you receive the letter from IIMB.

A certificate of participation will be awarded to the participants by IIMB.

  • The programme fee should be received by the Executive Education Office before the programme commencement date.
  • In case of cancellations, the fee will be refunded only if a request is received at least 15 days prior to the start of the programme.
  • If a nomination is not accepted, the fee will be refunded to the person/ organisation concerned.
