In the VUCA world, agility is at the core of survival for nations, industries, organisations and individuals. In the digital economy driven by SMAC (social media, mobile, artificial intelligence, cloud) technologies, virtual collaboration is the new normal in the post- Covid world. While smart technology represented by bots and algorithmic processes is ubiquitous and all pervasive, it is still the intellectual human capital  that scripts the rules to guarantee sustainable competitive advantage. This program, designed for the digital economy, takes the participants on an intellectually stimulating journey into the future of work, as being deployed by successfully scaling companies,  to optimally configure people, process, and technology.

The purpose of the program is to explore the future of work in a rapidly globalizing, knowledge, and service-intensive economy. Advances in IT and associated technologies are enabling firms to automate and/or outsource routine work, displacing the jobs of low-skilled workers, while enhancing the power of knowledge workers. In parallel, new industries and forms of collaborative and distance-based work are emerging, offering new challenges and opportunities. This program investigates the tectonics of technological, industrial and organisational changes and their potential impact on work arrangements and stakeholder relationships. Leaders and cross-functional heads need to proactively prepare for and embrace the change. Strategies and policies for managing change and coping with the new world of work will be outlined, drawing on latest research and practitioner experiences from around the world.

The topics include

  • The New Economy: Mega Drivers of Change
  • Knowledge and Intellectual Capital: Agile Approach
  • New Technologies, New Work Arrangements & New Work
  • HRM as a Visible, Competitive Differentiator
  • Design in the Post-Covid World
  • Managing Virtual Workforce
  • Sustaining a Start-up Mindset in Large Organisations
  • Global Perspectives & Trends
  • Work-Life Integration in the Future Workplace

The program will be conducted using a combination of interactive discussions, recent case analyses of corporate responses, exercises, simulations, and presentations from thought leaders working in different geographies. The participants will be expected to prepare for the class sessions and participate in the discussions to facilitate the learning process

The program is targeted at senior management in general management roles, where strategic renewal, transforming organisational culture, instilling learning organisation mindset and institutionalising self-leadership are the core role expectations.
