CDPG hosted a meeting on 26 June 2026 with iSPIRT Foundation, the Centre for Public Policy (CPP), and the Centre for Software and Information Technology Management (CSITM) at IIM Bangalore to discuss iSPIRT’s proposal for a Cybersecurity Digital Public Infrastructure. The agenda: to explore whether a citizen-centric digital platform could transform how India reports and resolves cybercrime.
iSPIRT presented the case for a unified Victim Access Portal, a single interface through which citizens can report cyber incidents, receive guidance, initiate FIR filing, and track complaint resolution across agencies. Participants candidly acknowledged the current system’s shortcomings: fragmented agency coordination, delays in reporting, difficulty preserving digital evidence, and limited investigative capacity, and agreed that technology alone is insufficient; legal, procedural, and governance reforms must advance in parallel. CDPG is exploring potential research and collaboration opportunities in this space.
