Rashi Agarwala, a PhD Scholar in the Strategy Area and a member of the Centre for Digital Public Goods at IIM Bangalore, shared insights from her recent Research Exchange Visit (REV) to Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany, during her REV seminar. She discussed her research work there and highlighted the academic collaborations and experiences that enriched her visit.

During her visit, she investigated the Medical Valley Ecosystem, in Germany’s Erlangen Metropolitan Region, one of the largest and most prominent medtech innovation ecosystems in Europe. Drawing on interactions with a diverse range of stakeholders, she explained how the exchanges deepened her understanding of the coordination mechanisms and value creation processes that underpin a mature innovation ecosystem.

Beyond research, the visit had presented her with opportunities to participate in academic interactions, seminars and cross-cultural exchanges. These opportunities enriched her research perspective, expanded her professional network, and strengthened prospects for future international collaborations.
