History

IIMB-RERI was set up in 2012 with support from a former Alumnus of IIMB in the RE space. Over the past nine-plus years of existence, we have become independent and built credibility in the area of research, policy involvement with the government as well as industry training and capacity building. We have published a number of papers in the Real Estate space, with many more in the pipeline. We were one of the select experts to provide views on the Real Estate Bill to the Parliament’s Select Committee. We were recently awarded with a large grant to recommend nationwide stamp duty reforms by the National Housing Bank (NHB). HUDCO has also awarded a couple of Study Grants in the past. Further, we organized the Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES) conference in India in July 2016. The tailormade Executive Education Program (EEP) for CREDAI is one of the largest and most sought after at IIMB (five weeks over five months). Also, as part of our community outreach, we recently launched a public portal that identifies survey numbers listed on Storm Water Drains (SWD) in Bengaluru (www.rajakaluve.org).
