Technical Note

Pricing of Rural Water Supply

This technical note emphasizes the need for pricing and provides an overview of the conceptual framework required to price drinking water. It also highlights the importance of Financial Management and the ways in which costs can be efficiently recovered, bearing in mind the affordability of the households. To perform cost computation for SVS and MVS levels, we have developed an Excel Template (available on the IIMB JJM website), which enables users to compute costs after inputting the values of investment and operational expenditures and other profile variables of the project.
