Greetings from the IIMB Archives!
The digital version of the IIMB Archives was formally launched on 6th February 2026.
The initiative to set up the IIMB Archives was mooted in June 2017 beginning with the History Project which documented the institute’s trajectory of growth from its inception to the celebration of its Golden Jubilee in 2023. The Golden Jubilee year witnessed commemorative celebrations and activities, including the publication of books on the architecture and the making of the IIMB campus, the flora and fauna of IIMB; films on the IIMB journey towards excellence and shared memories of the IIMB alumni on their alma mater; and a celebratory IIMB song.
The IIMB Archives aim to build a repository of multi-media records and documents dedicated to the founding and evolution of the institute. Beginning with a digital footprint, we aim to extend the repository to include a physical component and a gallery space. We aim to expand the scope of the archives to include the trajectories of the larger business ecosystem and the city of Bangalore, which have shaped IIMB’s unique journey.
We intend that the IIMB Archives should serve as a repository for researchers and scholars interested in institutional and organisational development, business history, the formulation of policy, the advancement of strategic thinking, and many other inter-related fields and subjects.
