Professor G. Raghuram, a distinguished academic and administrator, served as the Director of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) from February 2017, bringing a wealth of experience from his prior roles at IIM Ahmedabad and as Vice-Chancellor of the Indian Maritime University. With a specialization in infrastructure, transport systems, and supply chain management, Professor Raghuram has been recognized with multiple lifetime achievement awards for his contributions to logistics and operational research.

Under his leadership, IIMB experienced significant strides in institutional development, academic innovation, and strategic outreach. His tenure was marked by the implementation of the IIM Act, the expansion of academic programs including the launch of PGP in Business Analytics and the NS Ramaswamy Pre-Doctoral Programme, and a renewed focus on faculty development, research, and international collaboration.

He guided IIMB through pivotal moments such as the COVID-19 pandemic, initiated a visioning exercise to redefine the institute’s future direction, and played a central role in mentoring the emerging IIM Visakhapatnam. Professor Raghuram also emphasized strengthening institutional rankings, alumni engagement, fundraising, and campus development.

Beyond academia, he has served on the boards of companies and governmental advisory committees, contributing to national policy in logistics and infrastructure. With a BTech from IIT Madras, a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad, and a PhD from Northwestern University, he exemplifies the integration of scholarly excellence and impactful leadership.
