The IIMB Development Foundation (IDF) was set up in 2024 as a Section 8 (non-profit) Company with the sole objective of assisting the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) in its fundraising efforts. IDF strives to ensure that all philanthropic activities, by existing and prospective donors, are conducted in a professional manner in line with IIMB’s mission, vision and strategic plans.
IDF was created to support and advance IIMB’s mission through fundraising, strategic partnerships, and alumni engagement. While IDF operates independently for administrative purposes, it works closely with the Institute and serves as its official fundraising and development arm. IDF’s team operates from the IIMB Campus.
Driven by IIMB’s commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and nation-building, the IDF supports a range of initiatives that make education accessible and strengthen the Institute.
This includes scholarships and financial aid for deserving students, support for faculty chairs and research, development of state-of-the-art learning spaces, entrepreneurship and innovation programs, and sustainability and social impact projects.
To enable its commitment to shaping responsible leaders, supporting groundbreaking research, and fostering inclusive growth, IIMB relies on sustained support. This is especially true after IIMB gained greater autonomy under the 2017 IIM Act – this came with the responsibility of being financially self-sufficient. While the independence fuels innovation and excellence, it also means that creating impact at scale now depends on the generosity of donors.
By supporting IIMB, you become part of a vibrant mission to deliver world-class education and strengthen one of India’s most respected institutions — today and for the future, in particular for the new Undergraduate IIMB School of Multidisciplinary Studies.

The remittances are not routed through IDF – IDF merely serves as the official fundraising and development arm of the Institute, helping to channel contributions toward key priorities areas.
