Aritro Bhattacharyya is a Research Associate with the Health Economics and Policy Initiative at the Centre for Public Policy, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He holds an M.Sc. in Biostatistics and Demography from the International Institute for Population Sciences and a B.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Calcutta. His work focuses on health economics, policy, and systems research, particularly the links between primary healthcare, health financing, and universal health coverage in low- and middle-income countries. He is part of multinational research collaborations supported by the World Health Organization, including the Asia-Pacific Observatory and the PHC4UHC initiative, examining pathways from PHC to UHC. Previously, he worked with the Population Council, New York, on a Gates-funded systematic review investigating how education influences health outcomes. His research interests include impact evaluations, inequalities in health systems, and the governance and financing of healthcare delivery.
