Dr. Nirmala Nair is Secretary and Director at Ekjut, is a medical professional is the chief functionary and secretary of Ekjut since 2018. With more than two decades of experience and as a Technical Manager with Ekjut, she provides her expertise in developing, adapting and contextualizing materials and modules for the unique concept of ‘participatory learning and action (PLA)’ approach for women’s health; child health and nutrition; adolescent health and wellbeing and issues related to gender-based violence.
As an expert invitee for the WHO, she facilitated consultation on the National Health Policy in 2015 and is a recipient of WHO Public Health Champion Award with Dr Prasanta Tripathy, on behalf of Ekjut for the contribution to Public Health in India, 2015. She works full-time with Ekjut from there office in Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
