Sharmada Sivaram (consultant, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore) is a public health researcher with over seven years of experience examining issues in Indian public health, with a particular focus on health systems and women's health. She served as the technical coordinator of the PHC4UHC consortium. She specializes in qualitative methods and has worked on a range of issues including health systems strengthening, primary health care, universal health coverage and reproductive health. Sharmada holds an MSc in Public Health for Development from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK) where her dissertation examined the role of female sterilisation in Indian family planning policy and programme. She also has an MA in Sociology from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (India).
