Dr Swathi S Balachandra (consultant at IPH Bengaluru, PHC4UHC) is a Primary Care and HIV Physician and also a Public Health Professional. She was trained in Public Health from the Centre of Social Medicine and Community Health, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She advocates for health equity and works as part of collectives to strengthen health systems. She has a keen interest in being part of people's movements. She explores the intersection between health, gender, caste, and sexuality. She has worked on understanding the issues related to delivering primary health care to transgender communities and women in sex work.
