05 JULY, 2022: IIMB will host the second Business, Identity and Networks (BINS) conference, this weekend (July 9-11th). Besides a stellar line up of academicians presenting their work on diversity and business, we also have a panel discussion by practitioners from Uber, Amazon and Eskalera, where they intend to talk about how to understand diversity and applying our learnings from Industry and Academia.

Dr. Joyce Chen is a Professor of Economics at The Ohio State University and a Senior Economist in the People Experience and Technology Solutions group at Amazon, where she does DEI work. This continues her stellar DEI research as well as other work on Ohio State campus and for the profession
Dr. Elma Peda is the Head of Analytics at Eskalera, which she joined after spending three years as People Research Scientist at Meta. In her previous avatar, Elma was an academic, and an Associate Professor of Economics at the Naval Postgraduate School. She has done lot of really involved and important personnel economics research for the U.S. Navy and now works on workforce equity and inclusion in the private sector.
Dr. (and lawyer) Dan Svirsky is a data scientist at Uber and runs a team that aims to reduce the bias in Uber's marketing and safety algorithms.
