About IRB
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is committed to performing ethical review of research studies by protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects as well as supporting IIMB’s research mission. The IRB reviews all research involving human subjects before recruitment and data collection, that is conducted by IIMB faculty, students, and staff.
The IRB is guided by the following principles:

Ethical, legal, and institutional guidelines will be followed to evaluate applications of research studies with the primary purpose of ensuring that the rights of the human subjects are protected.

Independent assessment and evaluation of the benefits and costs of the research will be done to minimize risk for the human subjects.

All applications will be reviewed in a timely manner to facilitate productive research.
CITI Certification: Online training and certification are compulsory for all the researchers (primary investigators, co-investigators, academic associates, and research assistants) engaged in human subject research and the administrative staff of IRB through CITI program.
