The 6th webinar of the Masterclass series ‘Being Future Ready’, the session would be led by Rajeev Chawla, Strategic Advisor & Chief Knowledge Officer, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, GoI

25 April, 2023, Bengaluru: The Centre for Software and Information Technology Management (CSITM) at IIM Bangalore, in association with the Wadhwani Institute of Technology and Policy (WITP) and Digital India, will conduct a webinar titled, ‘Implementing large e-gov projects and learnings from Bhoomi/Kutumba’, on 27th April 2023 (Thursday), from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The webinar would be led by Rajeev Chawla, Strategic Advisor and Chief Knowledge Officer, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India. This would be the sixth webinar of the Masterclass webinar series titled: ‘Being Future Ready’. 

About the talk: During the session, Rajeev Chawla will discuss the learnings from some key government led projects such as Bhoomi/Kutumba – the most comprehensive, dynamic and self-updating registry of 1.75 crore families and about 5.5 crore citizens of Karnataka. The registry is being used for Suo Moto delivery of services and benefits to citizens. The Government of India is planning to create similar registries for all states. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

He is the recipient of many awards such as the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Civil Services for Bhoomi Project in 2006, Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Kanpur in 2007, United Nations Public Service Award in 2006, CSI Award for Best eGovernance State in 2005-06 and the Commonwealth Innovation Award in 2002. He was also listed under Forbes list of ‘Guardians of the Flame’ bureaucrats in its Independence Day special issue in 2012.
