24 June, 2023, Bengaluru: QUEst, an IIM Bangalore student-led club that promotes Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) initiatives, will host the Pride Run and the Pride Film Fest on 25th June 2023, to celebrate Pride Month. According to the club, the underlying objective of the initiative is to sensitize the IIM Bangalore community to ensure that the campus continues to be a safe space and that all stakeholders celebrate everyone – irrespective of their race, gender, creed, sexual orientation, etc.
Pride Run
Through the Pride Run, QUEst aims to promote that not only IIM Bangalore provides a safe space to its community, it also is a place which celebrates diversity. The event starts at 7:30 am, with students from all cohorts of all the programmes and faculty assembling for the registration process. The pre-run stretching will continue till 8:00 am, after which the run will begin from, and end at, the Main Building, with a 2.5 km route. The run is expected to be wrapped up by 9:30 am or before, depending on the participants’ pace. A badge with the word ‘Pride’ will be given to the participants as a souvenir and E-certificates will be provided at a later date.

Safety Measures
An ambulance will be on standby with the clinic staff to provide medical care, if required. The organizers will also ensure that participants stay hydrated and energized.
Pride Film Fest
Two short films will be screened during the fest at N001, starting at 10 am, with an aim to sensitize the students towards issues like Tourette Syndrome and acceptance of one’s sexuality, as explained by members of QUEst. The screenings will be followed by a discussion with the audience on the themes covered in the two movies, focussing on how they believe IIM Bangalore as a campus can work towards being a more inclusive one. TicToc
Duration – 22 minutes
TicToc is the story of Felix, who is 16 years old. He is struggling with the usual uncertainties of adolescence, but there is more he has to deal with: he has had Tourette Syndrome from a young age. It is difficult for him to deal with taunts from people who do not understand his condition. But it is even more difficult for him when they have preconceived notions about the condition and believe he is trying to get attention, or can simply stop showing the symptoms. Felix wants people to know what it feels to suffer from this condition, hence he is speaking out.
Alone with People
Duration – 26 minutes
Alone with People is a short film inspired by Quinn Marcus' one woman show, ‘Chasing Ballerinas’. The film follows Andie, a high school girl growing up gay in Georgia. She is not ready to talk about it with her family and friends, who she worries would disown her if they found out about her truth. Too scared to confide in anyone who knows her, Andie seeks comfort in a therapist who helps her realize that she has to first accept herself, before she can expect anyone else to accept her.
