29 August, 2017, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) at IIM Bangalore will host a research seminar on ‘Information Control in Reputational Cheap Talk’, on September 6 (Wednesday), 2017, from 2:30 pm, at Classroom P12. The talk will be delivered by Professor Saptarshi P. Ghosh, Shiv Nadar University.

Dr. Saptarshi Ghosh is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shiv Nadar University. His main research interests are in the areas of Game Theory and Political Economy. He is currently working on the topics of Persuasion Games, Cheap Talk, Voting, and Consumer Herding. As part of his current research, he is interested in analyzing the behavior of career-minded experts who operate in a secret committee, where their private recommendations may be leaked to the public. He is also interested in analyzing how the presence of reputation-driven media outlets affect the welfare of the voters. His other papers involve the employment of brand ambassadors by firms in a setting of strategic herding, and the value of verifiable information presented to juries during trials. He is also interested in the area of Credence Goods with a specific focus on Health Economy.
