Inauguration ceremony to feature an address by Chief Guest Rashmi Mohanty, IIMB alumna (PGP 1995 batch) and currently Chief Financial Officer of SBI Cards
8 June, 2023, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore is set to welcome students to its two-year fulltime MBA programmes: Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and the Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGP-BA), 2023-2025 batch, with an inauguration and orientation program from 12th to 17th June 2023.
The inauguration ceremony on 12th June will feature a keynote address by the Chief Guest and IIMB alumna from the PGP batch of 1995 Rashmi Mohanty, who is currently Chief Financial Officer, SBI Cards. In a professional career spanning 27 years, she has worked across the banking, non-banking and metal & mining sectors. Her areas of expertise include corporate finance, treasury, investor relations, corporate strategy and risk management. She has previously worked for Vedanta Limited, GE Capital, Deutsche Bank, Clix Capital and Religare, and has been instrumental in setting up and leading large treasury and finance functions.
She is a Computer Science engineer from Delhi Institute of Technology (now NSIT) and earned her postgraduate degree from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. She has been a speaker at various industry forums and conferences covering diverse topics, such as, financial markets, the NBFC sector, women in industry, etc. She has also conducted guest lectures on financial markets, derivatives and merger & valuations in MBA schools. She is one of the first few women ultra runners in India.
The event will also include welcome addresses by Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore, Deans, Programme Chairpersons, and more.
The evening’s event will see the recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Awards for 2023 being felicitated, and addresses by the DAA award winners. Announcements of the Director’s Merit List, Director’s Honours List and other scholarships will also be made. This will be followed by an address by the Students' Affairs Council (SAC) President Harshav Bessariya on Life at IIM Bangalore. The inauguration ceremony will end with a cultural program.
The orientation program from 13th to 17th June will cover interaction of the new students with faculty members and other senior officials (Deans, Chairpersons) of the school regarding introduction to the programmes, learning online, administrative matters, IIMB’s other programmes, activities, centres, committees and facilities, and more. Interaction with alumni groups has been scheduled as well.
