CCGC-NSRCEL to host online workshop on ‘Establishing Corporate Governance to Ensure Your Start-up’s Long-Term Success’

01 SEPTEMBER, 2022: The Centre for Corporate Governance & Citizenship at IIMB and NSRCEL, the start-up hub at IIMB are jointly organising an online workshop on “Establishing Corporate Governance to Ensure Your  Start-up’s Long-Term Success” from 5-9 September 2022.

All start-ups are born out of a wedlock of ideation and hard work of its founder(s). These founders are often people driven by the passion to prove their idea was right and the desire to grow their companies to great heights. But the lack of time, experience and business competence, can pose challenges and, often, corporate governance takes the proverbial backseat. Sometimes, it is even ignored in a bid to look at the “big picture”  of making the company look “attractive” to potential investors.

This programme, therefore, will focus on how start-ups can adopt good corporate governance practices. It will create awareness on regulatory compliances and cover subjects such as financial control and risk mitigation, legal requirements and challenges, labour laws, HR challenges for start-ups and the role of VCs/PEs in influencing good governance in start-ups.

Over 100 participants from start-up companies have registered for the workshop.
