11 October, 2021, Bengaluru: The Centre for Public Policy (CPP) at IIM Bangalore will host a talk titled: ‘Ramrao – The story of India’s agrarian crisis’ by Nagpur-based Jaideep Hardikar, independent journalist, researcher and writer, on October 20 (Wednesday), 2021, between 07:00 pm and 8:00 pm. The talk will be moderated by Dr. Arpit Shah, faculty in the Public Policy area of IIM Bangalore.

Jaideep Hardikar’s recent book ‘Ramrao’ breaks down India’s farm crisis through the story of Ramrao Panchleniwar, a farmer who survives his suicide attempt. In this talk, Hardikar will talk about the problems plaguing Indian agriculture, based on decades of his committed journalism and reporting. 

Jaideep Hardikar, in his career spanning about 25 years, has worked with several English newspapers, including The Telegraph as its Central India correspondent. Hardikar is the recipient of many coveted national and international awards and fellowships, including the Prem Bhatia Memorial Award and Sanskriti Award for Journalism. Hardikar is a visiting faculty at several journalism schools in India and is associated with the Asia Centre at the Monash University, Australia.
