Prof. Sanjay Sarma, Vice President of Open Learning and the Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, to be the keynote speaker; Prof. Deepti Ganapathy from the Management Communication area at IIMB to moderate the online discussion

20 July, 2021, Bengaluru: The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at IIM Bangalore will host a webinar titled, ‘Science of Learning’ on July 27 (Tuesday), 2021, from 06.00 pm to 07.00 pm IST / 08.30 am to 09.30 am EST, as part of the Samiksha series of webinars. 

Professor Sanjay Sarma, Vice President of Open Learning and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, will be the keynote speaker at the event. Professor Deepti Ganapathy from the Management Communication area at IIM Bangalore will be the moderator of the online discussion.  

To register for this event, those interested need to click here and fill up the Google form. After they register successfully, they will receive the Zoom meeting link to attend the webinar one or two days before the session. 

For any queries regarding the webinar, candidates need to write to: ctl@iimb.ac.in

Prof. Sarma has written a book called ‘Grasp’, which centers on the science of learning. During the webinar, he will draw on his many years of experience leading MIT’s Open Learning Systems and from current research in cognitive sciences to offer a glimpse on how learning, and therefore teaching, can be transformed using new scientific methods. His research is insightful, and is sure to be useful to many.
