IIMB's Centre for Capital Markets & Risk Management to host webinar on ‘Earnings Management for Investors’ on March 25

24 March, 2021, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore's Centre for Capital Markets & Risk Management (CCMRM) will host a webinar titled, ‘Earnings Management for Investors’ on March 25 (Thursday), 2021, from 03:30 pm to 04:15 pm. This is the first of a series of webinars to be held by CCMRM on the occasion of Global Money Week 2021. The session will be streamed on the website https://pie.ccmrm.org/#/

The webinar will be a discussion forum with Professor Srinivasan Rangan, IIMB faculty in the Finance & Accounting area and Chairperson, Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, as the speaker. Prof. Rangan joined IIMB in May 2010. Earlier, he taught at Northwestern University, University of California at Davis, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Texas at Dallas, Amrita School of Business (Coimbatore), and University of California at Berkeley. His work experience includes two years as a management consultant at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. His research interests are in the areas of market efficiency, financial analysis and valuation, initial public offerings, and earnings management. 

In order to focus on new and emerging areas of research and education, Centres of Excellence have been established within IIM Bangalore. These centres draw on resources from their stakeholders and interact with them to enhance core competencies. The vision of the CCMRM is to provide academic leadership in research and teaching relating to Indian capital markets. The centre intends to disseminate original research and provide sources of existing research on capital markets to researchers interested in the region.
