The Chair of Excellence seminar will be led by Professor Amit Khandelwal, Jerome A Chazen Professor of Global Business, Columbia University.

While much of the discussion around trade policy focuses on traditional barriers, such as tariffs and quotas, a growing body of work argues that information barriers to trade are large. The webinar will examine this recent literature and discuss potential paths for future research.

About the speaker: Amit Khandelwal is the Jerome Chazen Professor of Global Business at Columbia Business School and a non-resident senior fellow in the Global Economy and Development program at Brookings Institute. Prof. Khandelwal is currently a chair editor of The Review of Economics and Statistics and holds affiliations at the National Bureau of Economic Research, Council on Foreign Relations, and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL).
