India Japan Study Centre at IIMB hosts talk with doyen of Indian Manufacturing Baba N Kalyani on Feb 26

20 FEBRUARY, 2021: Join India Japan Study Centre (IJSC) (IIMB Centre of Excellence) for an engaging conversation with the illustrious Padma Bhushan awardee and entrepreneur and technocrat, Baba N Kalyani, Chairman & Managing Director of Bharat Forge Ltd., in the Centre’s ‘Expert-Speak’ series, from 3.00 to 4.30 PM IST, on 26th February.

During this virtual dialogue titled ‘Technological Innovation & Sustainable Economic Development! What can India & Japan learn from each other?’, Kalyani San will touch upon the rising collaboration between Indo-Japan businesses and role of innovative technologies in accelerating the economic growth.

Whether it is in terms of developing technologies to reduce carbon footprint or manufacturing light-weight products requiring lower energy consumption, Bharat Forge have set up several individual and joint ventures to create technologies, capabilities and expertise in the industrialisation and indigenisation in many sectors including   the critical sector of aerospace and defence systems. This is in response to emerging opportunities in the Indian market, such as ‘Make in India’ and global rethink on China-centric supply chains. As the Co-Chairman of the India-Japan Business Leaders’ Forum since 2013, Kalyani San has been leading the discussions in encouraging the business expansion and investing of Japanese companies in India thereby strengthening the cooperation between Japanese and Indian economic entities.
