14 July, 2022, Bengaluru: The Mizuho India Japan Study Centre (MIJSC) at IIM Bangalore will host Dr. Ozlem Ergun, College of Engineering Distinguished Professor & Associate Chair for Graduate Affairs in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, Northeastern University, in the next session of the centre’s flagship lecture series: ‘Tatsujin-Speak’, that is, ‘Expert-Speak’, on July 21 (Thursday), 2022, at 6.00 pm. The webinar is titled, ‘Building Supply Chain Resilience: Strategies for Developed & Developing Nations’ and will be held online.
In this hour-long session, Dr. Ozlem will throw light on structured framework of actions to enhance supply chain resilience for developed and developing nations.

Awarded ‘INFORMS Franz Edelman Prize in 2021’
Dr. Özlem Ergun’s research focuses on design and management of large-scale and decentralized networks. She has applied her work on network design, management and resilience to problems arising in many critical systems including transportation, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. Over the last two decades, Dr. Ergun has worked extensively with the private sector on supply chain and logistics issues, as well as with organizations that respond to emergencies and humanitarian and public health crises around the world, including USAID, UN WFP, UNHCR, IFRC, OXFAM America, CARE USA, FEMA, USACE, CDC, AFCEMA and MedShare International. Dr. Ergun’s decade-long collaboration with UN World Food Program to develop and implement supply chain optimization and analytics capabilities, was awarded the INFORMS Franz Edelman Prize in 2021.
Recently, Dr. Ergun partnered with the Massachusetts’ Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) as part of the state’s response efforts to COVID19. Moreover, Dr. Ergun served as a member of the National Academies Committees on Security of America’s Medical Supply and Building Adaptable and Resilient Supply Chains.
Prior to joining Northeastern, Dr. Ergun was the Coca-Cola Associate Professor in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, where she also co-founded and co-directed the Health and Humanitarian Systems Research Center at the Supply Chain and Logistics Institute.
