India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2017 finals on August 10

08 August, 2018, Bengaluru: The stage is set for the India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2017 (IICDC 2017) finale, an event which was launched by Texas Instruments India (TI) in association with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and anchored by IIM Bangalore’s innovation and entrepreneurship hub NSRCEL, which will be held on August 10 (Friday), 2018, at the IIMB auditorium.

The theme of the event, in keeping with the start-up buoyancy, is ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Nation-building through Technology’.

More than 15380 students from 965 engineering colleges have made it to the qualifying round from across all the states in India. Enthused with creative brilliance in their uninhibited minds, undeterred by the hurdles, mentored by their committed teachers, IIMB mentors and TI experts, they are striving hard and competing in this challenge to build a better tomorrow with their product start-ups.

The top 30 teams embark on the final phase of the IICDC 2017 journey waiting to demonstrate their products on August 10, 2018. During the finals, the student teams will present their product prototype and pitch their business ideas to the panel of evaluators. The objective of the contest is to identify 10 successful start-ups which will be incubated at NSRCEL and supported by DST with funding up to INR 3.5 crores.

The event will be hosted jointly at IIM Bangalore’s NSRCEL by TI, DST, IIMB and myGov (an initiative of the Government of India to build a crucial partnership between citizens and the Government with the help of technology in order to work towards good governance by seeking ideas, suggestions and creative talent of the citizens).

NSRCEL invites all to visit the exhibit booths and attend the award ceremony to encourage engineering talent and the entrepreneurial spirit of young India.
