Day’s attractions include a talk by ‘ghazal’ singer and poet Surinder Kohli, and a competition of Hindi film songs with cash prizes

11 September, 2018, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore will celebrate Hindi Day on September 14 (Friday), 2018 with a plethora of activities, from 02.30 pm onwards, at N-103. Since Hindi was adopted as the official language of the Union by the Constituent Assembly on September 14, 1949, this day is celebrated as Hindi Day, according to the guidelines laid down by the Department of Official Language.

The event will include the welcome address by Shivakumar Venkateswaran, Chief Human Resources Officer, IIMB, an address by Professor G. Raghuram, Director, IIMB, and a talk by Surinder Kohli ‘Suri’, ghazal singer and poet. The Hon’ble Home Minister’s message on Hindi Day will also be read out. This will be followed by a competition of Hindi film songs with cash prizes ranging from INR 500 to INR 1500.
