PGPPM Policy Speaks talk on ‘The Challenges to National Security’ on June 12

11 June, 2019, Bengaluru: A special talk titled, ‘The Challenges to National Security’ has been organized by IIM Bangalore’s Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGPPM), to be held on June 12 (Wednesday), 2019, from 5.45 pm, in Classroom N-201, as part of PGPPM’s event ‘Policy Speaks’, a Public Policy talk series. The talk will be delivered by Lieutenant General (Retd) Deependra Singh Hooda, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM & Bar, ADC Former General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command.

The General is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Pune and was commissioned into the prestigious 4th Battalion of the 4th Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army on December 15, 1976. He later commanded the same battalion. The General had an illustrious and decorated career spanning over four decades. He was awarded the UNMEE medal during his tenure with the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea. He also headed the single member panel constituted to carry out the study for restructuring of the armed forces and drafted the National Security Plan for a major political party.
