03 January, 2020, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) at IIM Bangalore will host a research seminar titled, ‘Informed Citizens and Political Entry: Evidence from a Large Education Programme in India’, on January 08 (Wednesday), 2020, from 02.30 pm, at Classroom P-22. The talk will be delivered by Professor Abhishek Chakravarty, University of Manchester (Area: ESS, Public Policy).

Prof. Abhishek Chakravarty is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) of Economics, Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences, University of Manchester. He has a B.A. (Economics Honours) from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, an M.A. in Economics from the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and a PhD in Economics from the University College London.

His research fields include Applied Microeconomics and Development Economics. His research has appeared in leading publications like American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Applied Econometrics, The B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy, etc.

His awards include the UCL Economics Best Teaching Assistant Runner-up, 2009-10, and UCL Economics Teaching Assistant Award, 2007-08, 2008-2009.
