01 January, 2019, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) at IIM Bangalore will host a research seminar titled: ‘Trading While Sleepy? Circadian Mismatch and Excess Volatility in a Global Experimental Asset Market’ on January 11 (Friday), 2019, from 02.30 pm, at Classroom C-11. The talk will be delivered by Professor Ananish Chaudhuri, University of Auckland, New Zealand.

Speaker Profile: Professor Ananish Chaudhuri joined the University of Auckland in 2003 and has been the Head of the Department of Economics from 2013. He taught at Wellesley College and Washington State University prior to this. His areas of expertise include Applied Microeconomics, Economic Development, and Experimental Economics. His primary research area is experimental economics with an emphasis on the role of trust, reciprocity and altruism as well as the role of social norms in economic interactions. Earlier in his career, he undertook theoretical and empirical work looking at incentive contracts with applications to franchising and land tenancy contracts.

Professor Chaudhuri received the University of Auckland Business School Research Excellence Award, 2010, 2008. He is also the recipient of the Special Service Award from the Council of the New Zealand Association of Economists for “outstanding work raising the quality and profile of the New Zealand Economic Papers” during his term as editor between 2007 and 2010. He is an invited speaker in many international events and has contributed to leading journals.
