11 October, 2021, Bengaluru: To deliberate on Environmental, Societal and Governance (ESG) issues and how corporate enterprises are dealing with these in an integrated manner, the Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship (CCGC) at IIM Bangalore organized an exclusive CEOs’ Round Table – ‘The G-Force in ESG: Environmental, Societal and Governance: Have we reached the inflection point?’, on October 01 (Friday), 2021.

While ESG issues are gaining traction and becoming common corporate parlance, the governance element is often overlooked while dealing with the other two elements. Today ESG is the bedrock on which sustainable and long-term value creation is built.

The rapid increase of references to ESG – from the pressroom to the boardroom – reflects the intent of all stakeholders of an organization to address such issues. Although the social and environmental elements of ESG are relatively younger in their adoption by companies, recent stakeholders’ demand will result in these issues being treated with utmost importance and urgency, including issuance of newer regulatory frameworks to address them.

The webinar was led by Suresh Narayanan, Chairman & Managing Director, Nestle India Ltd; C K Venkataraman, Managing Director, Titan Company, and Rekha M Menon, Chairperson & Senior Managing Director, Accenture in India. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore. Prof. Padmini Srinivasan, Chairperson, Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship, delivered the welcome speech as well as the vote of thanks.
