Corporate governance has taken on new meaning and relevance, extending beyond traditional perspectives and select businesses.

The IIMB Centre for Corporate Governance and Sustainability at IIM Bangalore was established in 2003 with the broad objective of creating a Centre of Excellence in research, teaching, training, advocacy and policy support in Corporate Governance, sustainability and responsive business through capability-building, knowledge creation and dissemination. To achieve this endeavour, the Centre conducts research studies and variety of activities in corporate governance, sustainability, and responsible business, with the aim of identifying and replicating best practices for enhanced corporate value creation.

Our vision is to be India’s first-choice go-to Centre of Excellence in corporate governance, teaching, dissemination and policy support and a leading centre for research, innovation, and impact in the area of corporate governance globally.

CCGS aspires to advance inspirational education and promote dialogue amongst stakeholders.

In the last five years, the Centre actively engaged in organising many new programmes on relevant topics of governance & sustainability, particularly workshop series for NGOs, Start-ups, SME development programmes and a forum for young and aspiring directors. CCGS has also entered into partnerships with governments, institutions, industry, and industry associations to promote active engagement in research, dialogue, and conferences that disseminate best practices in corporate governance and sustainability. the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and the Centre for Governance & Sustainability, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Centre also engages in international research and practice in collaboration with its international partners through seminars, dialogues, conferences, and the hosting of visiting scholars. The CCGS also seeks to facilitate knowledge exchange among Academia and practitioners addressing corporate governance and sustainability issues. We believe this will help the Centre expand its scope of activities and increase its visibility and impact.

CCGS is excited to embark on a new journey with the addition of a sustainability agenda to our work.

As the Centre moves forward, it will continue to explore new avenues, areas, and partnerships to further strengthen its research and other activities in the areas of governance, sustainability, and responsible business.
