Centre for Software & IT Management to co-host 6th India Software Product Management Summit with International Software Product Management Association on 16th and 17th Feb

The theme for this year’s conference is Artificial Intelligence 

9 February, 2024, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore’s Centre for Software and Information Technology Management (CSITM) will co-host the sixth edition of the India Software Product Management Summit, along with the International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA), on 16th and 17th February 2024. This year, the theme for the SPM summit is ‘Product AI: Navigating the Future of Product Management’.

The summit will feature keynote speeches, presentations by industry experts, panel discussions, interactive workshops, academic paper presentations, and more. Pre-conference workshops will also be conducted on 15th February 2024. 

This year’s summit will also feature a student case competition that underscores the active involvement of students from Product and Business disciplines nationwide, fostering a diverse and vibrant community of future leaders in the field. 

The Program Chair (Academic Track) is Prof. Spurthy Dharanikota, faculty from the Information Systems area of IIM Bangalore and ISPMA Fellow. Setting the context of the event, she says: “The summit represents a convergence of scholarly insights and industry practices under the Product AI theme, and fosters rich dialogue and collaboration among the multidimensional product community. We look forward to the vibrant exchange of ideas that will shape the future of product management in the AI era“. 

The summit Chair is Prof. S. Sadagopan, Chairman, ISPMA India Chapter, Ex-Director, IIIT Bangalore. Discussing the importance of this summit, he says, “With all industries getting impacted by software products and AI and every new start-up depending on a software product to deliver its services, the importance of software products and platforms is becoming central to the economy and more so to the start-up economy. With India playing a key role in all this, this summit is extremely relevant. 

Hans-Bernd Kittlaus, Chairman of the Board, ISPMA, shares that the SPM summit in Bangalore always provides a lot of valuable information and exchange between attendees and speakers. This year’s theme AI has significant potential both in products and in tools supporting the product manager’s work, he added. 

Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore; Prof. Shankhadeep Banerjee, Chairperson of the Centre for Software & Information Technology Management and IT Facilitation Committee, and faculty of the Information Systems area of IIMB, and Prof. R Srinivasan, Chairperson of the two-year fulltime MBA programmes: Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) and PGP in Business Analytics (PGP-BA), and faculty of the Strategy area of IIMB, will also deliver addresses during the summit.
