About the Conference

The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for discussing crucial macroeconomic topics such as, the interaction between housing markets and monetary policy; housing and long-run economic growth; financial stability and macro-prudential policy; and international capital flows and housing markets. In this regard, we are planning to bring the most knowledgeable researchers and experienced policy makers from across the world. The focus of the conference is on emerging market economies (EME) though papers on advanced and low income countries with policy implications for the EMEs would also be presented. There will also be special session dedicated to housing market and monetary policy in India.

The conference which would be attended by very senior level officials from various central banks, IMF, World Bank and academicians from leading institutions from across the world. Prof. Frank Warnock and Veronica Warnock, University of Virginia; Prof. Peter T Chinloy, American University, Washington DC; and Simon Walley, Coordinator, Housing Finance Program, World Bank; Prof. Albert Saiz, MIT; Prof. Hans Genberg, Adviser, SEACEN Centre, Malaysia; and Mico Loretan, Adviser, Swiss National Bank, have confirmed their participation. Further, more than 20 international participants and similar level of participation from within India, of the level of chairpersons of commercial banks, leading academicians, and policy makers is expected.
