  • AGILE-UG: With Hiroshima University; 17 IIMB undergraduates in global entrepreneurship via international collaborative learning.
  • Lean Manufacturing Practices Program (2022): Training faculty and students to apply Japanese-inspired Lean in real factories.

    • a. Feb 2025: 65 Waseda MBA/EMBA students explored India’s innovation and social enterprise ecosystem (e.g., MITTI Café).
    • b. Feb 2025: Nagoya TONGALI student entrepreneurs connected with Indian startups.
    • c. Nov 2024: Meiji University cohort visited startups and heritage sites.
  • JLCC (Japanese Language Conversation and Culture): Second cohort; 50+ participants; online classes plus cultural workshops (karuta, calligraphy, chopsticks).
  • Seminars/webinars: 40+ sessions; 50+ expert speakers; thousands of viewers.
  • Government engagements: Osaka Prefecture, Greater Nagoya; white papers and structured dialogues on talent exchange, investment, and bilateral cooperation.
  • Industry and academic partners: Mizuho Bank, Toshiba Software, BPL Medical Technologies; universities such as Keio, Meiji, Waseda, Hiroshima.

‘Special and Global Partnerships’ took center stage at Mizuho India Japan Study Centre’s (MIJSC) 7th Foundation Day on 20 September 2024. The Foundation day celebrations marked the release of the annual MIJSC Milestone video (2023-2024). The visual documentation serves not just as a recap, but as a celebration of the Centre’s initiatives and operations bringing together faculty, research scholars, students, government agencies and industry leaders across India and Japan for knowledge creation and dissemination. It also offers an exciting preview of upcoming projects and initiatives.

To drive ambitious efforts forward, MIJSC seeks strategic partnerships with corporations from both Japan and India. Such collaborations would be mutually beneficial, enabling corporates to fulfill social responsibilities while supporting a world-class Centre of Excellence at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

Unveiled as part of the Foundation Day 2023 Celebration Mizuho India Japan Study Centre (MIJSC), this video gives a recap of all the center’s activities and operations in bringing together faculty, research scholars, students, government agencies and industry leaders of India and Japan for knowledge creation and dissemination. The video also gives a glimpse into the Centre’s upcoming projects and initiatives. For the Centre to work towards and achieve these ambitious goals, MIJSC is looking for support from corporates both from Japan and India on specific projects. This would be a win-win partnership wherein corporates could realise their social obligations through this Centre of Excellence @ Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
