2 February, 2026, Bengaluru: Prof. Swati Bandi, Chairperson, Centre for Management Communication (CenComm) and faculty of the Management Communication area, IIM Bangalore, delivered a talk on, ‘Teaching in Uncertain Times: Why Humanistic Education Matters’, at St. Joseph’s University on 20th January 2026, as Chief Guest on the occasion of Guru Utsav.

The unique event celebrating the act of teaching was organized by the School of Business. Prof. Bandi spoke about teaching, love, pleasure and companionship anchored in cura personalis, the Jesuit educational philosophy.

The research interest of Prof. Bandi, who has a PhD in Transnational Studies, includes Communication, Media Industries, Corporate Social Responsibility and Creative Economy. Her papers have appeared in peer-reviewed academic publications like Feminist Media Studies as well as in magazines such as Critical Collective and The Feminist Wire.
