Communicating Research — 1 & 2
The Communicating Research modules (Part 1 in Term 3 and Part 2 in Term 6) are integral components of the PhD programme at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Together, they strengthen doctoral scholars’ ability to communicate complex research with clarity, coherence, and academic rigour. Communicating Research 1 introduces the essentials of scholarly writing—framing arguments, structuring papers, and presenting data persuasively—while Communicating Research 2 advances these skills through practice in writing for publication, conference presentation, and thesis dissemination.
Designed for doctoral students across disciplines, these modules ensure that effective communication becomes a core research competency rather than an afterthought. The sequential design—Part 1 during the coursework phase and Part 2 as students move into independent research—enables a gradual but confident transition from internal academic writing to external scholarly communication. Together, they prepare future researchers and academics to engage diverse audiences and contribute meaningfully to the global body of knowledge.
