The meet focused on building sustainable growth pathways for women-led ventures

2 February, 2026, Bengaluru: Prof. Swati Bandi, Chairperson, Centre for Management Communication (CenComm) and faculty of the Management Communication area, IIM Bangalore, participated in an ecosystem roundtable hosted by the innovation and entrepreneurship hub of IIM Bangalore – NSRCEL, on 10th January 2026

The roundtable was attended by policymakers, designers, retailers, donors, market access partners and founders. The discussions focused on building sustainable growth pathways for women-led ventures. As the Area Chair of CenComm, Professor Bandi contributed by asking, “Could this be a problem of communication?” This question anchors the ambitious research initiative Creative Economies of the Global South.

Prof. Swati Bandi is a scholar of Communication, Media and Gender. Her teaching and research interests span the fields of media production, creative economy, cultural policy and visual cultures in India with a focus on the politics of empowerment in cultural discourses of women's rights. Her current work explores the intersection between corporate social responsibility and communication for social change.
