Prof. Swati Bandi presents her paper ‘Corporate Logics of Contemporary Communication for Social Change: A View from the Global South’ at the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology, Morocco

The 5th ISA Forum of Sociology took place in Rabat, Morocco, on July 6–11, 2025 around the theme “Knowing Justice in the Anthropocene.” Bringing together sociologists from around the world, the Forum fostered critical engagement with the concept of the Anthropocene and discussions about knowledge production, epistemic authority, and the role of sociology in shaping public understanding.

Prof. Bandi presented her paper Corporate Logics of Contemporary Communication for Social Change: A View from the Global South,’ which examined how corporate ideologies, practices, and logics increasingly shape the strategies and narratives of communication efforts aimed at social change. The paper also reflected how digital technologies and platform capitalism mediate communication in the Global South.
