IIM Bangalore’s PGPEM propels into global top 100: FT EMBA Ranking 2025
With strong gains in alumni outcomes, Working-MBA programme rises sharply to #72 globally and #2 in India
13 October, 2025, Bengaluru: A competitive and rigorous pathway for professional growth – the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), IIM Bangalore’s two-year MBA for working professionals, has secured the #72 position globally and #2 position in India in the Financial Times Executive MBA (FT EMBA) 2025 Ranking.
The FT EMBA draws on alumni responses and institutional data across criteria such as salary progression, career advancement, work experience, aims achieved, and network quality, together accounting for over half of the total ranking weight. In financial outcomes, the salary percentage increase for PGPEM alumni rose to 82% from 68%, reflecting a transformative impact of the programme on executive management education. The presence of international students this year further signals PGPEM’s growing global appeal.
Launched in 1998, the PGPEM is IIMB’s part-time MBA designed for professionals with at least six years of work experience. With a globally benchmarked curriculum that leans on a practice-based orientation, the programme enables participants to expand their managerial perspective and capability without stepping away from their careers.
IIMB’s performance this year was strengthened by standout gains across sustainability, research, and inclusion metrics. The programme achieved a leap in its Carbon Footprint Rank from #83 to #23, while the ESG Net Zero teaching rank went up to #82 from #98. The FT Research Rank also rose sharply from #97 to #68.
Equally notable are advances in gender diversity across the IIMB ecosystem: women now represent 25% of faculty (up from 23%), 28% of students (up from 26%), and 40% of Board members (up from 33%).
Earlier this year, IIMB’s two-year full-time MBA, the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), ranked #1 in India and #28 globally in the Financial Times Masters in Management (MiM) 2025 Ranking, making it the only Indian B-school to feature in the global top 30.
