26 JULY, 2022: The Centre for Corporate Governance & Citizenship (CCGC) at IIM Bangalore will host an online session on ‘The Tipping Point of Hubris: Corporate Takeovers & Market for Corporate Control’, between 6 pm and 7 pm, on 11th August 2022.
Corporate governance refers to the rules and processes by which a business is controlled, regulated, or operated. The webinars hosted by CCGC discuss the compatibility of corporate objectives, maximizing shareholder value versus stakeholder interests and how to manage the trade-offs that exist among various stakeholders’ agendas.
This webinar will focus on market for takeovers and acquisition for control rights as a mechanism to alleviate the agency problem. Strategies ranging from friendly to hostile buyouts, and tactics, including bear hugs, proxy contests and tender offers, will be discussed with its relevance to the Indian governance system.
