Shiva Prakash Devaraju, IPS, DCP (Traffic), South Division, Bengaluru, Government of India, was Chief Guest; around 350 participants complete 5K and 2k runs 

12 February, 2024, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore’s Executive General Management Programme (EGMP), batches 64, 65, 66 and 67, in collaboration with IIMB Alumni Association (IIMBAA), hosted an awareness campaign, ‘STEP UP – A Run for Pedestrian Safety’, to mark 2024 Year of the Pedestrian’, on 11th February 2024. The campaign, held at the IIMB campus, Bannerghatta Road, consisted of 2K run and 5K run. 

STEP UP is a campaign for pedestrian safety, an attempt to bring to the fore issues faced by pedestrians, and to move from vehicle-centric to pedestrian-centric policy making. Funds raised from registration fees, sponsorships and voluntary donations of the event will be used to support pedestrian safety programs and initiatives. 

Prof. Sourav Mukherji (FPM-98), Dean, Alumni Relations & Development and faculty of the Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management area of IIMB, flagged off the run. Chief Guest Shiva Prakash Devaraju, IPS, DCP (Traffic), South Division, Bengaluru, Government of India, and Subodh Patil, Dy. Director, IIMBAA (Bangalore Chapter), were also present at the awareness drive. 

Around 350 participants completed the 5K and 2k runs. The Step-up campaign also saw participation from children of EKA Inclusion, which offers various programs addressing requirements of adolescents with special needs. 

Executive General Management Programme (EGMP) offered by IIM Bangalore is designed for functional managers aspiring to move into general management roles.
