About the speakers: Vijay Wadhwani has had more than 27 years’ experience as a successful professional in the supply chain functional and leadership domain with an ability to handle matrix reporting. His expertise lies in Supply Chain Operations, Project Management and Procurement across diverse businesses and multicultural interfaces, S& OP, Demand and Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Factory Operations, Distribution Network Redesign, Warehousing and Logistics, Freight Modelling, Budgeting, 3PL Management, Reverse Logistics, E-Auctions, and Operational Procurement. Moreover, he has extensive experience in developing souring strategies, encompassing vendor identification, development and analytical assessment to strengthen supply chain effectiveness.
Over the last 14 years, he has been working with Relaxo Footwears, a Delhi-based footwear manufacturer, in business for last 35 years. He established and led the Supply Chain Logistics Department and achieved high performance which helped the organization become the fastest growing profitable footwear company and emerge as one of the largest footwear companies in Asia.
During his first 13 years of experience before Relaxo, he worked for eight years with Vardhman Threads and for the next five years with DS Foods. He developed Integrated Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing as his core competency. He has led Supply Chain Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Distribution and Logistics. He displayed dexterity in steering the entire gamut of Supply Chain function encompassing best production planning, best order execution, best warehousing, inventory control and transportation.
He holds a Post Graduate degree in Management from IMT Ghaziabad UP, with specialization in Marketing. He also completed the one-year Executive General Management Programme from IIM Lucknow. At present, he is perusing a Ph.D. in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from UPES Dehradun. He is an invited speaker and coach in various supply chain conferences and management institutes. Moreover, he has received several awards as well as recognitions from management institutes and magazines. He has written a number of articles and case studies which have been published in business magazines and discussed in management programmes.
