“The leadership of the future is about growing with trust, innovating with purpose and inspiring people by being an example”

Scott Pharr

In a seminar hosted by IIMB’s EPGP on Oct 20, Accenture Global’s Senior Managing Director of Strategy & Consulting Scott Pharr says leaders of tomorrow should innovate for results and there should be collaboration across the ecosystem

29 October, 2021, Bengaluru: The students of the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) at IIM Bangalore had an enlightening session with Scott Pharr, Senior Managing Director, Strategy and Consulting at Accenture Global, who shared his views on the topic ‘Leadership in the New’, on October 20 (Wednesday), 2021.

Thanking the MBA graduates from IIM Bangalore for making significant contributions to Accenture, Scott Pharr shared that the objective of Accenture as an organization is: “To deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity”. He went on to discuss the broad range of services offered by Accenture, from Strategy & Consulting to Operations.

Scott spoke about the changing dynamics of leadership and provided tips on the new ways of working that continuously require increased focus on work-life balance, cyber-security, acceleration towards the cloud, disruption of business models, etc. “To grow in a business, one should unlearn what one has learned and should be thirsty to learn continuously. There are six different areas where leadership is reimagined across different themes, namely, developing a human connection, building leaders at all levels of work, bringing up fearless teams, imbibing innovation culture, tapping the opportunity of going digital, and creating more equal cultures”.

He also gave an insight on the future of leadership. “The leadership of the future is all about growing with trust, innovating with purpose and inspiring people by being an example. The leaders of tomorrow should innovate for results by advocating an inspiring vision, and there should be collaboration across the ecosystem where execution of responsibility occurs with agility and with personalization in a truly human way”. The session ended with an engaging Q&A session with the students of the cohort.

Scott Pharr is the Global Managing Director for Accenture’s Capability Network Industry Practices, which is a large global team of strategy and management consulting experts across 19 industry networks. He has 25 years of rich experience serving global energy companies and his expertise lies in enhancing operational productivity through organizational change, business transformation, and solution integration. Scott has also served as Accenture’s Country Managing Director for the U.A.E. and has been awarded twice with Accenture’s Outstanding Service Commitment Achievement Recognition.
