Professor Pulak Ghosh receives Young Researcher Award from the International Indian Statistical Association
Professor Pulak Ghosh has received the Young Scientist award in the Statistical Applications category for Year 2011 from the International Indian Statistical Association. The award recognized his outstanding contribution and innovative work on applied statistics. The award ceremony was held on April 24, 2011 at Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. This is a significant recognition and highly prestigious honour given to a researcher 45 years old or younger. Dr Pulak Ghosh is Associate Professor in the Quantitative Methods & Information Systems area at IIMB. Professor Ghosh's key specializations are in various fields, including Quantitative Finance, Econometrics, Biostatistics, Bayesian Statistics, Multivariate Longitudinal Survival Data, Non Parametric Bayesian Spatial and Spatiotemporal Modeling among others.
Dr Ghosh is a highly accomplished researcher with great international repute. He has published about 44 research papers in various prestigious international journals. He also serves on the editorial boards of various international journals, including the prestigious Journal of the American Statistical Association.
Prior to joining IIMB in July 2009 Professor Pulak Ghosh served as Associate Director, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, USA; Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics, Georgia State University, Associate Professor at Emory University, USA. He had also served on National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant review panel. Professor Ghosh is a visiting faculty at many national and international institutions. He obtained his PhD in Statistics from Oakland University, USA in 2003.
