‘Best Professor in Information Technology Management’ honour for Professor Rahul De
Professor Rahul De was conferred the 'Best Professor in Information Technology Management' award at the Asia's Best B-School Awards function held in Singapore on July 23, 2010. Initiated by CMO Asia with CMO Council as its Strategic Partner and 'Stars of the Industry' Group as a research partner, Asia's Best B-school Awards are presented to individuals and institutions who have surpassed several levels of its excellence and set an example of being role model and exemplary leadership. Rahul De is Professor in the area of Quantitative Methods & Information Systems at IIMB, and the Hewlett-Packard Chair Professor in ICT for Sustainable Economic Development. He has a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, and a PhD from the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburg, USA.
Professor De's key research interests are E-Government Systems, and applications of ICT for development. He also works in applied Artificial Intelligence, particularly in the areas of Multi-Agent Modelling and Ant Colony Optimisation.
Professor De's paper "Caste Structures and eGovernance in a Developing Country" had received the Outstanding Paper Award for the most Interdisciplinary and Innovative Research contribution, on September 3, 2009 at the 8th International Conference on EGOV at Linz, Austria.
